Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal launched the Chief Minister Sehat Yojana. Under this scheme, all 65 lakh families of Punjab will get cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh. This scheme will officially start on October 2, Gandhi Jayanti.
Nowadays, treatment has become very expensive. There are some diseases which take all the savings to cure. In such a situation, people take health insurance keeping in mind their health. Meanwhile, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal launched the ‘Mukhyamantri Sehat Bima Yojana’ in Chandigarh. Under this scheme, health cards will be made for every person in Punjab. With the health card, they will get free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh. Cards will start being made from October 2.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that big hospitals are included in this scheme. People need not worry. Earlier people used to be stuck in the hassle of blue and yellow cards. Now through the health card, we have decided that whoever is a resident of Punjab will get treatment under all circumstances. The Chief Minister clarified that under this scheme, only one health card will have to be made, there is no need to fill any long form.
Features of the scheme
1 – Free health insurance up to Rs 10 lakh to every family.
2 – Cashless and paperless treatment in government and private hospitals
3 – No income limit, there is also no restriction on the number of family members.
4 – Additional top-up cover of ₹ 5 lakh to beneficiaries already associated with Ayushman Yojana
5 – There is also facility of treatment in hospitals associated with Ayushman Bharat outside the state.
These documents will be required
To avail the benefits of this scheme, a person must have documents like Aadhar card and voter card of Punjab. Only those who have these documents will get the benefit of the scheme. Kejriwal said that health cards will be issued to all eligible people, with the help of which free treatment will be available in both government and private hospitals. Those who do not have health cards will be able to get the card made by showing Aadhar and voter card in the hospital.
Know how different is the new scheme from Ayushman Yojana?
Mukhyamantri Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana is already running in Punjab, under which free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh is available in government and panel hospitals. 80 percent of the people of the state are covered under this scheme. Apart from this, Ayushman Bharat Yojana is being run by the central government, which provides treatment up to Rs 5 lakh to people below the poverty line in government and listed hospitals across India. This scheme is applicable in all the states, but the participation of the state government is necessary in it.
Now people of all age groups will be able to take advantage of the new scheme that the Punjab government has come up with. There is no such condition in this scheme that only a certain percentage of people will get its benefit, rather it is only necessary to be a resident of Punjab.
