If you are a policyholder of HDFC Life Insurance Company, then there is good news for you. Actually, the company has announced a bonus of Rs 4102 crore for its 21.90 lakh policyholders on Tuesday. According to PTI news, HDFC Life has approved a bonus of Rs 4102 crore in the company’s board meeting held on April 17, 2025. The company has said that this is the highest bonus ever announced by HDFC Life on policies.
When will the bonus be paid
According to the news, out of this total bonus declared by HDFC Life, an amount of Rs 3232 crore will be payable to the policies as part of maturity payment in the current financial year and the remaining amount will be acquired as policy benefits and will be paid when these benefit payments are made in subsequent financial years. The annual bonus declared by HDFC Life has almost doubled every four years, thus reflecting the consistent increase in fund performance and policyholder value with benefits.
What did the company say?
The company has declared a total cumulative bonus amount of more than Rs 22,500 crore across all eligible participating policies since its inception. HDFC Life’s appointed actuary, Eswari Murugan said that I am happy to announce that HDFC Life has declared its biggest bonus ever this year. Policy bonus is a reward for policyholders who stay connected for a long time.

Claim Settlement Ratio of 99.68%
HDFC Life has achieved a claim settlement ratio of 99.68% in individual death claims in FY25. The company settled claims under 19,666 policies and paid a total of Rs 2060 crore as death claim benefits. 99 per cent of non-scrutiny claims were paid into the claimant accounts within the next working day after receiving all the required documents.
