According to sources, the results of the survey showed that 9 out of 10 people had health insurance coverage provided by the employer, although 2 out of 10 people were not aware of their insurance amount. Six out of ten people had no idea who their employee health benefits provider was. Less than one in ten people made a claim for health insurance under their employer’s health care plan.

As per the report, 83 per cent of those surveyed did not know whether their health care plan included preventive health check-ups, and 84 per cent only did health check-ups when their doctor advised it. About 71 percent did not know whether their parents were covered by the health care plan that their job provided.

There are broadly three types of health care plans offered by the employer, such as group health insurance, group life insurance and personal group accident etc.
