The Uttar Pradesh government has notified districts for tomato, capsicum, green peas and mango crops under the restructured weather based crop insurance scheme. Farmers can get insurance for tomato, capsicum and green peas till November 30 and for mango till December 15.
For the restructured weather based crop insurance scheme, the government has notified the crops and their related districts. These include 19 districts for Rabi season green pea crop, 28 districts for tomato crop, eight districts for capsicum crop and 20 districts for mango crop.
The last date for getting insurance under the scheme has been fixed as November 30 for tomato, capsicum and green pea crop and December 15 for mango crop. This insurance scheme, which came into effect from the year 2023-24, covers farmers from notified areas for selected crops.
Farmers should apply for restructured weather based crop insurance. They have to pay five percent of the insured amount as premium. In this, the damage caused to the crops due to less rainfall, unseasonal or excessive rainfall, frost etc. is compensated. Under the scheme, Etah, Kasganj, Kannauj, Kanpur Nagar, Fatehpur, Prayagraj, Jhansi, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Varanasi, Ghazipur, Ballia, Deoria, Basti, Lucknow, Sultanpur, Barabanki, Gonda and Bahraich have been notified for green peas.
For tomato, Saharanpur, Shamli, Meerut, Bulandshahr, Hapur, Aligarh, Etah, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Shahjahanpur, Sambhal, Kannauj, Kanpur Nagar, Hamirpur, Varanasi, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Azamgarh, Ballia, Unnao, Sitapur, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Barabanki and Balrampur have been notified.
Firozabad, Bareilly, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Moradabad, Varanasi, Lucknow and Barabanki have been notified for capsicum and Saharanpur, Muzaffar Nagar, Meerut, Baghpat, Bulandshahr, Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Bijnor, Amroha, Sambhal, Pratapgarh, Varanasi, Lucknow, Unnao, Sitapur, Hardoi, Ayodhya, Barabanki, Balrampur, Shravasti have been notified for mango.
Applications for mango insurance will be accepted till December 15 and for the remaining three till November 30.
The department has launched a new portal https://fisheries.up.gov.in for applying for the state sector schemes run by the Fisheries Department. Fisheries Minister Sanjay Kumar Nishad inaugurated it on Friday. Fishermen will have to apply on this portal to avail the benefits of Mukhyamantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, Nishadraj Boat Subsidy Scheme and installation of aeration system for intensive fisheries, Moped with Ice Box Scheme.
New portal launched for application in Fisheries Department schemes
The date for application has been fixed from 24th July to 14th August. Fisheries Minister said that the state government is committed to the development and upliftment of fish farmers and fishermen community. Under Mukhyamantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, the lease holder of ponds allotted on lease of Gram Sabha for fisheries is given 40 percent subsidy on first year investment and establishment of fish seed bank.
In Nishadraj Boat Subsidy Scheme, 40 percent subsidy is given for boat, net, insulated ice box etc., 50 percent on establishment of aeration system for intensive fisheries and 40 percent subsidy is given in Moped with Ice Box Scheme.
