Rajasthan Health Insurance Scheme: The Rajasthan government has launched the Chief Minister’s Ayushman Arogya Yojana for poor and economically vulnerable families. Under the scheme, families will receive health insurance up to ₹25 lakh and accident insurance up to ₹10 lakh. The scheme covers over 1,798 medical procedures.
The Rajasthan government has taken a significant step to enhance the health security of the state’s citizens. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma launched the “Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Yojana,” which aims to provide financial security to poor and economically vulnerable families in the face of critical illnesses and emergencies. This scheme is considered a major initiative towards making healthcare accessible to all in the state.
Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Yojana
Under this scheme, eligible families will receive health insurance up to ₹25 lakh and accident insurance up to ₹10 lakh. This insurance cover covers over 1,798 medical procedures and packages, including heart surgery, cancer treatment, organ transplantation, and treatment of other critical illnesses. The scheme’s key feature is that it also covers pre-hospitalization (up to 5 days before hospitalization) and post-hospitalization (up to 15 days after hospital discharge), relieving patients of financial burden even after treatment.
Eligibility and Registration Process
Several categories have been defined to avail the benefits of this scheme. These include BPL families (SECC 2011), NFSA cardholders, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) families, small farmers, and families included in the COVID-19 relief list. Additionally, families who do not fall into these categories can also become part of the scheme by paying an annual premium of ₹850.
The registration process for the scheme has been simplified. Interested beneficiaries can apply online on the Chiranjeevi Yojana portal or by visiting their nearest e-Mitra center or Jan Aadhar center.
