LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana: To empower women financially, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has launched ‘Bima Sakhi Yojana’. Under this scheme, even 10th pass women can become LIC agents and get a monthly stipend of ₹ 7,000 in the first year. This scheme not only provides a stable income but also increases awareness about insurance.

What is ‘Bima Sakhi Yojana’?

This scheme is designed for women empowerment, in which selected women can work as LIC agents. LIC gives them a stipend of ₹ 7,000 per month initially (up to the first year), and in the second year, if 65% of the first year’s policy remains in-force, then they get a stipend of ₹ 6,000 / month. This amount is given on the basis of performance. LIC trains the women joining this scheme so that they can sell policies and increase awareness about insurance.

How much can women earn?

Women working in Bima Sakhi Yojana are given a stipend of ₹7,000 every month in the first year. In the second year, if 65% of the policies of the first year remain active, then ₹6,000 is given. In the subsequent years, the stipend depends on further performance.

The age of women applying for this scheme should be at least 18 and maximum 70 years. They must be at least 10th pass.
