LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana : 2 lakh women are earning money, government disclosed in Parliament

LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana: The central government launched the Bima Sakhi Yojana for the empowerment of women. Under this scheme, women in the age group of 18 to 70 years are given special training and stipend for three years. The government said that 2 lakh women have joined this scheme and are earning Rs 7,000 per month.

LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana: Many schemes are being run by the central government with the aim of making women self-reliant. Meanwhile, the central government launched the LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana on 9 December 2024. This scheme is getting a good response. Lakhs of women have got employment through this scheme. In response to a question asked in Parliament, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said that a total of 2,05,896 women have joined LIC’s Bima Sakhi i.e. Mahila Career Agent (MCA) scheme so far. Through this scheme, women are earning Rs 7,000 per month.

Through this scheme of LIC, women are getting a golden opportunity to make a better career by becoming insurance agents. Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said that in the financial year 2024-25, Rs 62.36 crore has been paid to the Bima Sakhis. For the financial year 2025-26, LIC (Life Insurance Corporation of India) has budgeted Rs 520 crore, out of which Rs 115.13 crore has already been paid till July 14.

Know what is Bima Sakhi Yojana
Bima Sakhi Yojana is a special scheme started by Life Insurance Corporation i.e. LIC for women. Women from 18 to 70 years of age get benefit in this. 10th pass women are given priority in this scheme. Under this scheme, women are first given training for 3 years. During this time they are taught about insurance. During training, Rs 7000 per month is given in the first year, Rs 6000 in the second year, and Rs 5000 per month in the third year. Commission is given on top of that on taking insurance.

Not only money but also a permanent job
After 5 years of training in Bima Sakhi Yojana, women can apply for the post of Apprentice Development Officer i.e. ADO. However, graduation is necessary for this. Apart from this, women who are performing well are also given separate incentives. Bima Sakhi Yojana is an effort by the central government to increase the participation of women in the workforce and strengthen their financial condition.

LIC signed an agreement with the Rural Ministry
The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) and the Rural Development Ministry have taken a big step together. This can bring about a change in the economic condition of women in villages. LIC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rural Ministry to take its ‘Bima Sakhi Yojana’ to every village. The agreement was signed during a national conference ‘Anubhuti’ held in Goa between July 8 and 10.
