PM Fasal Bima Yojana 2025: Many types of schemes are being run to improve the economic condition of farmers in the country. PM Fasal Bima Yojana 2025: Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) is a major government initiative which was launched in February 2016 for crop protection of farmers. If you are a farmer and want to get a good insurance to keep your crop safe, then you can apply in PMFBY. It is necessary to link this scheme with Aadhaar. Its deadline is today (31 July 2025). The last date to join Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana for Kharif crop is 31st July.

Let us tell you that Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana is an agricultural insurance scheme launched by the Government of India. Its purpose is to provide financial assistance to farmers in case of damage to crops due to natural disasters, pests or diseases. Farmers can get their Aadhaar verified and updated by going to the nearest branch of the same bank or company from which they have taken the insurance policy.

You can get insurance for these crops

According to the news published in Financial Express, under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, farmers can get paddy, soybean, groundnut, maize, moong, jowar, tur, cotton, sesame millet, maize, paddy, urad crop insured. This scheme will help farmers to compensate for the loss of crops due to natural calamities like drought, flood, hailstorm etc. Banks and insurance companies have clarified that without Aadhaar e-KYC verification on the PMFBY portal, crop insurance will be considered invalid, even if the premium has been paid. Therefore, it is very important for farmers to get their Aadhaar verified.

How much premium do farmers have to pay?
Under the PM Crop Insurance Scheme, farmers have to pay 2% of the insurance amount for Kharif crops, 1.5% for Rabi crops, and a maximum of 5% premium for cash crops. Under the Crop Insurance Scheme, farmers are informed within 72 hours in case of crop loss. Under the PM Crop Insurance Scheme, 18 insurance companies, 1.7 lakh bank branches and 44000 Common Service Centers are providing services to provide benefits in 27 states and union territories.

Know how to apply for PM Fasal Bima Yojana

You can apply by visiting the portal of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima (www.pmfby.gov.in). Along with this, farmers can also apply through PMFBY AIDE app from home. Apart from this, farmers can also apply for this scheme by visiting Jan Seva.

How to avail insurance

Farmers from many states of the country can avail the benefits of PM Crop Insurance Scheme. For this, farmers have to fill a form. You can apply for it online or offline. If farmers want to apply online, they can apply by visiting the PM Crop Insurance Scheme website https://pmfby.gov.in.

If they want to apply offline, they can apply by visiting the nearest bank, co-operative society or CSC (Common Service Center). Farmers have to apply for insurance within 10 days of sowing the crop. Only then is the crop considered eligible for insurance.
