Sharing information about Postal Life Insurance, Ramcharan Oraon, Postmaster of Bokaro Sector-2 Head Post Office, explained that Postal Life Insurance is the country’s oldest insurance scheme, launched in 1884. Initially, this facility was limited to government employees, but later, it was expanded to the general public. Now, lawyers, doctors, private employees, and young people over the age of 18 associated with other organizations can also benefit from it.

This is how the bonus is received:

This scheme provides insurance coverage ranging from 20,000 to 50 lakh rupees. The special feature of this insurance is that the younger the age at which the insurance is taken, the lower the premium payment. Furthermore, this scheme allows for monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual premium payments. Compared to other insurance companies, it offers a better bonus, currently offering a bonus of 52 rupees per thousand rupees, making it a strong option for young people.

These documents will be required.

In the event of the policyholder’s accidental death, the payment is made directly to the designated beneficiary. However, a policy surrender must have been valid for at least three years. If the policy is surrendered before five years, the bonus amount will not be available. To avail of this scheme, interested beneficiaries should visit the post office and have their Aadhaar card, PAN card, and payslip ready. Additionally, young people must provide educational certificates or documents related to their date of birth.
