Car insurance :If the vehicle is stolen, do this work first, you will get insurance claim easily!

First register FIR:

After your car or motorcycle is stolen, the first thing that you should do is to register an FIR with the police.

In case of vehicle theft, without wasting any time, first of all you should go to the nearest police station and register an FIR after giving complete information about the incident. This FIR is the most important document for the entire process ahead.

Claim form should be filled:

The most important thing after registering the FIR with the police, you should immediately call the customer care of the insurance company and fill the claim form. In the form, you have to fill policy number, vehicle details.

Apart from this, full details of the day and time of the incident of vehicle theft will also have to be given. Along with this, the insurance company asks you for two keys of your vehicle, but even if you have only one original key, they can refuse to give you the claim.

This is how settlement happens:

A properly filled claim form, driving license, vehicle registration certificate, policy document, a copy of the FIR and a letter informing the theft to the RTO of your city have to be given to the insurance company.

After which when the police complete their investigation and submit the non-traceable report, then you will have to give the RC of your vehicle and the key of the car to the insurance company.

After this, on the basis of the report of the surveyor, the amount of insurance will be credited to your account.
