Gas Price : Great scheme of the government, these people are getting cheap CNG

CNG Price: Traditionally natural gas is used in electricity and fertilizer production. It is also converted into vehicle fuel CNG and cooking gas PNG. Till now this gas was available only in western and northern regions.

The reason for this is that the pipeline carrying the gas from the source to the users was limited to these areas only.

Gas Price: The government’s ambitious ‘Urja Ganga’ pipeline project has helped in taking the benefits of cheaper natural gas prices to the hinterland of the country. This has also increased the acceptance of clean fuel in the country. Official sources gave this information on Wednesday. Traditionally, natural gas has been used for electricity and fertilizer production. It is also converted into vehicle fuel CNG and cooking gas PNG. Till now this gas was available only in western and northern regions. The reason for this is that the pipeline carrying the gas from the source to the users was limited to these areas only.

Line pipe

In October 2016, the work of laying a 2,655-km pipeline from Jagdishpur in Uttar Pradesh to Haldia in West Bengal, Bokaro in Jharkhand and Dhamra in Odisha began. Later this line was extended from Barauni in Bihar to Guwahati in Assam. This length is about 726 kilometers. Its purpose was to deliver gas to the untouched states of the East. Jagdishpur-Haldia-Bokaro-Dhamra Pipeline (JHBDPL) is called Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga Pipeline.

Supply of gas

Official sources said that this pipeline is now ready to supply gas to eastern states… Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal. This helped in supplying cheaper CNG and PNG to the consumers of these areas after the government’s decision to reduce the price of natural gas. Consumers of 20 towns and cities are now getting the benefit of reduction of about Rs 5-7 in prices. Gas pipeline is the cheapest means of transportation of gas.

Gas transportation

sources said that public sector GAIL (India) Limited was authorized to lay JHBDPL for gas transportation in the eastern states of India. The Government has provided Viability Gap Funding (VGF) of 40 percent for the implementation of JHBDPL. This amount works out to Rs 5,176 crore. GAIL is also laying Barauni-Guwahati pipeline under JHBDPL which will act as a source for Northeast Gas Grid Pipeline. The Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga Pipeline will connect the entire geographical area of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal and further north-eastern region of the country.
