Insurance Policy : Big news! There is going to be a big change in the rules of motor insurance, money will have to be paid for vehicle insurance on the spot.

In India, about 50 percent of the vehicles are plying on the roads without vehicle insurance. The problem with these vehicles is that if they become victims of a vehicle accident, then due to lack of insurance, the person injured in the accident is not able to get a claim even for treatment. Now the Transport Ministry is preparing for major changes to crack down on uninsured vehicles.

By now you must have heard, read or seen that two-wheeler riders without helmets are stopped and given helmets. Sometimes this work is done by taking money and sometimes some institutions or individuals do it at their own expense, but now soon you will also see that the vehicles which do not have a motor insurance policy, if caught in traffic checking, they will be immediately seized. Insurance will have to be purchased. For this, money will also be collected from these people on the spot, the money of which will be deducted from Fastag. For this, the government is going to change the rules and once the new rules are implemented, it will become a thing of the past for the drivers to drive on the road without insurance.

Car bike insurance rules will change!

Vehicle insurance is also an important document among the documents required while driving any vehicle on the road. If a vehicle is plying on the road without a motor insurance policy, then its challan can be issued as per the rules. After the amendment in this rule issued till now, it is possible that along with the fine, you will also have to buy ‘on the spot’ motor vehicle insurance for which the insurance amount will be deducted from Fastag.

50% vehicles are running without insurance policy.

The Transport Ministry is preparing major changes to crack down on uninsured vehicles. The reason for this is that Indians are very careless regarding motor insurance. According to statistics, about 50 percent of the vehicles in India are running on the roads without vehicle insurance. The problem with these vehicles is that if they become victims of a vehicle accident, then due to lack of insurance, the person injured in the accident is not able to get a claim even for treatment. This is why it is mandatory for all vehicles to have at least third party insurance.

How will the new rule work?

Now the government is going to make such a system for careless drivers in which police and transport department officers will immediately provide third party insurance to the vehicle running on the road without insurance with the help of a device. For this, the help of the Vehicle App of the Ministry of Roads and Highways will be taken. With the help of this app, you will get all the information about the seized vehicle. If it is found that the vehicle is not insured then the vehicle owner will immediately be given the option to buy a motor insurance policy. There will also be a provision to pay the insurance amount through Fastag.

Insurance companies will be brought on Fastag platform!

To make this new rule effective, motor insurance companies can be brought on the Fastag platform. Under this, premium will be deducted from the amount present in Fastag. According to an official of the General Insurance Council, recommendations are being prepared for the implementation of the new rule in the meeting and it will be discussed in the meeting on March 17. Along with this, ways to implement this rule will also be discussed with the state governments so that all the agencies can implement it without any hindrance.

Seized vehicles get short term insurance.

IRDAI has already given permission to insurance companies to issue temporary or short term insurance for vehicles caught without insurance. But after the new rule comes, it will be replaced with a scheme to provide third party insurance. At present, discussions are being held to remove legal obstacles for this. If necessary, it will be implemented by amending the Motor Vehicles Act and Insurance Rules.
