Jharkhand: The Jharkhand government has gifted a health insurance scheme to the lawyers of the state, under which coverage of Rs 5 lakh for general illness and up to Rs 10 lakh in serious cases will be provided. Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that this scheme is a step towards providing benefits to every section of the society. He also announced to build the country’s best law university in Jharkhand.
The Jharkhand government has given a big gift to the lawyers. Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced on Saturday that the lawyers of the state will be given the benefit of health insurance scheme. Under this scheme, coverage of Rs 5 lakh for general diseases and up to Rs 10 lakh for serious cases will be provided. So far 14,937 lawyers have registered for this scheme.
Our aim is to make the schemes reach every section of the society: Chief Minister
Launching the scheme, Soren said that the government is committed to the welfare of every citizen of the state. Our aim is that the benefits of government schemes reach every section of the society. This is one such scheme for lawyers. The government will pay an annual premium of Rs 6,000.
‘We don’t work for votes’
He further said, our critics say that we work for vote bank. But I believe that if we work, people will naturally join us. We go to people to ask for votes on the basis of our work. This is the reason why this time people have given us more strength and blessings than in the previous term.
‘Soon the country’s best law university will be built in Jharkhand’
Soren said that Jharkhand is one of the backward states of the country. This saddens me. We are making every effort to erase this stigma. Along with this, he said that his government is working to empower the lawyers of the state. The Chief Minister said, we are preparing to establish the country’s best law university in the state. It will be ready soon.
