Niva Bupa Health Insurance launches Personal Accident Policy, coverage up to Rs 10 crore

Niva Bupa Health Insurance has launched Personal Accident Policy. In which the sum insured is provided in case of any kind of bodily damage in an accident.

New Delhi: Niva Bupa Health Insurance (earlier known as Max Bupa Health Insurance) provides financial assistance in case of death, partial, temporary or permanent disability of policy owners and their family members. A Standalone Personal Accident Plan is launched to secure. The company claims that the plan has been designed to urge customers to live a life without fear. Personal Accident Plan provides sum insured up to 25 times the annual income.

The product has been launched with the ‘Live it Up’ campaign that encourages customers to live life to the fullest. According to the company, the premium for this plan starts from Rs 962 (inclusive of tax) and offers coverage starting from Rs 5 lakh up to Rs 10 crore.

Features of Personal Accident Plan

Temporary Total Disability (TTD) Benefit: In case the policyholder is suffering from Temporary Total Disability (TTD) arising out of an accident, compensates for temporary loss of income by paying 2 per cent of the Base Sum Assured (maximum 1 lakh per week) per week.

Monthly Benefit : Provides additional lump sum amount (0.5% of Sum Assured up to Rs.50,000 per month) for 3 months after the accident involving Death/Permanent Total Disability (PTD)/Permanent Partial Disability (PPD)/Coma/Burns .

Child Support Benefit: In case of death/PTD, lump sum payment for education (up to 5 lakhs) and marriage expenses (up to 10 lakhs), as well as providing education counseling and placement services support to the children of the policyholder.

Loan Protector Benefit: In case of death of the policyholder, additional benefit is given to protect against the outstanding principal amount of the loan.

Niva Bupa MD and CEO Krishnan Ramachandran said accidents are common, and accidental injury can happen to anyone irrespective of their occupation, age or health condition. It can be anything from traffic accidents to animal bites. According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, 415 deaths occur in accidents every day on Indian roads, the highest in the world, killing 1.5 lakh people and crippling over 3.5 lakh people annually.

He further added that an accident can be a very dangerous event as it affects the social, emotional and financial well-being of a family. Hence, Standalone Personal Accident Plan is introduced with a range of benefits like Death, Permanent Total Disability, Permanent Partial Disability, Child Support, Temporary Total Disability, Monthly Requirement Benefit, Loan Rakshak etc. to make the customers feel safe and secure. .
