Petrol Diesel Price: Oil companies have released new rates of petrol-diesel for March 15, 2023, amidst the ongoing stir in crude oil prices.

Petrol Diesel Price, 16 March 2023: Today is 16 March 2023 and the day is Thursday. Even today there is good news for the common people regarding the prices of petrol and diesel. Indian oil marketing companies have released the latest prices of petrol and diesel for Thursday, March 16, 2023, in which there has been no increase. In this way, today is the 296th consecutive day when there has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel in the country.

At present, petrol in Delhi is being sold at Rs 96.72 a liter while diesel is being sold at Rs 89.62 a litre. Whereas in Mumbai, petrol is available at Rs 106.31 and diesel at Rs 94.27 per litre. While petrol in Kolkata is Rs 106.03 and diesel is Rs 92.76 per litre. On the other hand, petrol is being sold at Rs 102.63 and diesel at Rs 94.24 per liter in Chennai.

The costliest petrol and diesel  are being sold in Ganganagar and Hanumangarh districts of Rajasthan  . Petrol in Ganganagar costs Rs 113.48 per liter and diesel costs Rs 98.24 per litre. Whereas in Hanumangarh district, petrol is being sold at Rs 112.54 per liter and diesel at Rs 97.39 per litre.

A decrease in the price of crude oil is being seen in the international market. After this decline, WTI crude has reached close to $ 75.42 per barrel and Brent crude has reached $ 81.56 per barrel. Crude oil prices reached $140 per barrel in March this year after July 2008. Even after this, there has not been a drop in the prices of petrol and diesel in the country.

Excise duty was cut on 21 May 2022 

Earlier on May 21, the government had cut excise duty on Petrol Diesel Price Today. Excise duty on petrol was cut by Rs 8 per liter and diesel by Rs 6 per litre. Since then the price of petrol and diesel had come down. After this, diesel became cheaper by Rs 9.50 and diesel by Rs 7 per liter in the country. Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Odisha and Kerala governments also cut VAT after the Centre’s announcement.
