Ration Card: Center took a big decision, new rules of ration implemented across the country

In fact, under the National Food Security Law, the central government has decided to link electronic point of sale (EPOS) devices with electronic scales at ration shops to ensure that the right amount of food grains is available to the beneficiaries. The law has amended the rules. After this it has become mandatory for all the Kotdars to keep electronic scales. The government is also getting inspection done for this, so that no quota can steal now.

New rule implemented across the country

After this order of the government, now all the fair price shops in the country have been connected with online electronic point of sale ie POS devices. That is, now there is no scope left for disturbances in the ration weighing.

Let us tell you that the government has provided hybrid model point of sale machines to the ration dealers, the beneficiaries of the Public Distribution System (PDS) should not get less ration under any circumstances. Let us tell you that these machines will work offline as well as in online mode if there is no network.

What is rule?

According to the information provided by the government, this amendment is an attempt to further the process of reforming the food grain weighing under section 12 of the Act by improving the transparency of the operations of Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) under NFSA .

In fact, there used to be complaints continuously that in many places the Kotedars weigh less rations. Under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), the government is providing five kg of wheat and rice (foodgrains) per person per month to about 80 crore people of the country at a subsidized rate of Rs 2-3 per kg respectively.
