SBI ATM card : Insurance up to 20 Lakh is Available For Free on SBI ATM Card, The Amount is Decided According to The Category, know The Status of Your Card

The country’s largest public sector bank SBI offers accidental insurance cover of up to Rs 20 lakh on ATM cards. But the amount of insurance is decided according to different categories of cards.

ATM card has given a lot of convenience to people’s life. If you have an ATM, then you do not need to go to the bank again and again to withdraw cash. Cash can be easily withdrawn anytime and anywhere.

But your ATM does not work only to withdraw cash. Many other facilities are also given on this. Bank does not tell about these facilities while giving ATM, so people do not know about it.

One of these is the facility of accidental insurance, which can prove to be helpful for the family in difficult times. Whether the ATM card is of a private bank or a government one, complimentary insurance cover is also available with each card.

Dual Insurance Cover

According to the information available on the website of SBI Bank, there are two types of insurance cover available at ATMs. This is complimentary insurance cover. First Personal Accidental Insurance (Death) Non Air and second Personal Air Accidental Insurance (Death). Know about them-

Personal Accidental Insurance (Death) Non Air: This insurance cover provides insurance to the debit card holder for accidental death in addition to air travel. If the ATM card has been used during the last 90 days from the date of accident, then this insurance cover can be claimed.

Personal Air Accidental Insurance (Death): This insurance covers the debit cardholder only for air accidental death. Insurance can be claimed if financial transactions have been done through this card up to 90 days prior to the date of the accident, as well as air tickets for the journey in which the accident occurred using the debit card .

  • Personal Air Accidental Insurance (Death): Cover up to Rs.10,00,000
  • Personal Air Accidental Insurance (Death): Cover up to Rs.20,00,000

SBI Premium (Business Debit) (MasterCard/Visa)

  • Personal Air Accidental Insurance (Death): Cover up to Rs.5,00,000
  • Personal Air Accidental Insurance (Death): Cover up to Rs.10,00,000

SBI Platinum (MasterCard/Visa)

  • Personal Air Accidental Insurance (Death): Cover up to Rs.5,00,000
  • Personal Air Accidental Insurance (Death): Cover up to Rs.10,00,000

SBI Gold (MasterCard/Visa)

  • Personal Accidental Insurance (Death) Non Air : Cover up to Rs.2,00,000
  • Personal Air Accidental Insurance (Death): Cover up to Rs.4,00,000

SBI Pride (Business Debit) (MasterCard/Visa)

  • Personal Air Accidental Insurance (Death): Cover up to Rs.2,00,000
  • Personal Air Accidental Insurance (Death): Cover up to Rs.4,00,000

How To Claim

If an ATM card holder dies in an accident, then the card holder’s nominee has to go to the branch of the bank where the account was opened. You will have to go there and give an application for compensation. Necessary documents have to be submitted in the bank.

After a few days, the nominee gets the insurance claim, but keep in mind that in case of death or accident within 45 days of using the bank’s ATM card, the dependent of the concerned person can claim compensation under the insurance policy.
